In this video, I am going to make an antique
mixed media wall decor for my home. Hey Guys, welcome back. This is Maitree and you are
on my channel JennyPenny DIY. Last week, some of you asked me to do some mixed media art
which should not be a bottle craft. Today, I have come up with a mixed media art that
I never did on my channel before. Please let me know your feedback in the comment section
below. If you like the video, please press the like button and do share the video with
your friends. If you are new on my channel, please do subscribe to it and please press

you will be notified about my new videos on my channel. And now lets check today’s video.
For this mixed media art, I have taken a canvas. Then I got this mask. This is the same mask
that I created few days back using my homemade paper clay. I have got a separate video on
how to make paper clay. If you have not watched the video, then you can check the description
of this video. I have given the video link there. Then I got some wall putty which I
got from a hardware store. Then I used the putty to paste the mask on the canvas. Then
I mixed water and white glue in 8:1 ratio.I mixed quarter cup of white glue with two
cups of water. Then I got some old news paper.soaked the paper in water and glue mixture.
Squeezed the excess of water. Then wrapped the paper around the mask. You can do this
process using fabric as well. Then I wrapped some more paper around the mask. Then I got
some wall putty and made some textures on the canvas with the help of a palette knife. Then I made some paper fans using some A4 size paper. Then I glued the paper fans on
the corners of the canvas. You can have your own design. Mine is a pinterest inspired project
and I wanted to have this exact design on my mask. Then I made some flowers using kitchen
towel. To make the flowers, I first got some black Gesso. This is a homemade Gesso that
I made by mixing plaster of paris, white glue and black Acrylic in 1:1:2 ratio. I have got
a separate video for this. If you have not yet watched the black Gesso preparation video,
you can check the description of this video. I have given the video link there. I got the
black gesso on a plate and mixed some water to it. Then I got some square sized kitchen
towel, soaked the kitchen towel in the black Gesso. Holded the middle of the fabric using
a tweezer and twisted the fabric to get a flower like texture. This is entirely black
here. You may not be able to see the texture that the flower has got. However, I will show
you once it gets dried. Lets see another flower that I made. Now I glued the textured flowers
on the mask. Then I got Black Gesso and painted the entire mask and the canvas using black
gesso. Once the gesso was all dried, I applied some golden acrylic on the entire canvas and
the mask using dry brush technique. In dry brush technique, you need to get some acrylic
colour on a brush and make the brush relatively dried by dabbing it on a surface and then
you can apply the colour. I applied golden acrylic on the entire canvas and the mask.
You can have some more colour of your choice as well. Then I varnished the entire mask
using an acrylic varnish. Then I did a little decoration on the eyes of the mask. You can
have some more decorations as well. However, I stopped here and used the mask as a wall
decor in my living area. Thanks for watching the video. If you liked the video, please

in the comment section below. I will be back with some more interesting projects. Till
then, bye bye.
