To start the project, I am going to use these 5 gallons stir sticks of wood that are from Walmart at less than $ 1.00 and bring 3 the package If you wanted to use Dollar Tree material you could buy the wooden rules they have, only this wall decoration would be a bit smaller The first thing I will be doing is cutting the part of the wooden stick that is not right because I need them to be completely right To cut the sticks, I will use this tool, and in the description of the video, I leave the link where you can get economical. And I’m going to cut all the ticks in the same way The first two are going to stay that size, but in the third I’m going to measure and cut it in half Once all the clubs are cut, I will place them in the way I want my wall decoration on a foam or cardboard and drawing that shape. Then with a knife, cut the foam in the shape and the, right size Now I’m going to use Dollar Tree contact paper in cream, dark brown and light brown that simulate wood I will use my manual cutter to cut the contact paper into strips of the same size and widthI will use my manual cutter to cut the contact paper into strips of the same size and width It is very easy to do it with this hand cutter, but you could still use a scissors All contact paper styles cut the same size and approximately 1-inch wide each I do not know why my camera did not want to record when I started, but basically, what I’m going to be doing is placing the contact paper strips on the piece of foam or cardboard as straight as possible I recommend that you create a sequence in the colors and designs of the contact paper that you use You must verify that you do not have air bubbles and cut the excess contact paper from the edges Our next step was to paint the wooden sticks in white with a single layer of paint and let them dry With burnt umber paint and a brush, you create a distress look to the sticks The distress look I made was very mild and it is how it would look From there, I began to locate where each stick was supposed to be in the foam and then stick them I was not satisfied with the color of the sticks, so I applied mineral color so that it resembled one of the contact papers and match more And then apply browner to highlight all the edges a little more For the moment, this is how it would look, I did not like it as it will look and then I’ll show you how to fix it Now I’m going to use this plastic word from Dollar Tree that says FAMILY I’m going to paint it with my spray paint Metallic Silver Once it has dried, I will highlight the edges using my burnt umber color paint and a sponge. I’m going to put paint around it around the edges of each letter When I use paint in metallic silver, I always like to highlight the edges in brown and with this sponge I’ll leave the link where I buy this type of sponges that are very economical and are excellent Once we are finished and dry, this is what the word FAMILY would look like From there, I should put enough hot glue and paste it in the center of my sign As I told you, I did not like at all how the sign sticks looked, so I decided to paint them Use my burnt umber color paint and I gave two hands of paint to all the sticks and cover all the distress look that I had made them… … but you know what? Sometimes less is more and with color brown, I think it looks much better and I like it more and would have spent less work if or had painted like that from the beginning This is how the painting would look with the sticks in brown and I like it much more I’m going to stick two wooden trunks to the sign with this Super Glue in Gel that I love because it sticks fast and strong and does not make disasters because it’s gel From there, I wanted to paste greenery on one of the edges of the painting with two small flowers My loves this would be the result of the project and I loved how it looks I wanted to hang decorations on the wooden trunks, but you could hang keys or whatever you want Remember on my social networks, Instagram and Facebook that I leave on screen and in the description of the video!

You are very talented….it's kinda difficult keeping up with you since it's not in English but great content

  48. Leslie Jackson says:

Using woodgrain Contact paper in different colors in strips is a great idea! Surprised no one else thought of this. I saw that black FAMILY sign at DT and I liked the font the letters are done in, but the black plastic looked too "cheap" and not classy to me. It NEVER occurred to me to paint it silver and distress it so it looks like galvanized metal, Jaz! Looks very high end and expensive now. Of course, it's doubtful I will be able to find one of those FAMILY signs now, DARN IT! LOL! 😁😎😆 I also like your sign"s frame MUCH BETTER dark. 💋😙💜💖 I enjoyed seeing your thought process as you changed your mind and then your frame color. Just goes to show that projects are constantly evolving. You did GREAT! Can't wait to see more of your DIY's, Jaz! 😙💜💖😁😎😆
