Hi, this is Naheed Mir and today we’re going to talk about color accuracy in the rugs on the website. So my question for George is how accurate are the colors on the website for the rugs? They are very accurate of course it all depends on the person viewing the rugs you know if their monitor is calibrated or not but we do our best here at Rugknots to ensure that the colors are as accurate as possible. Tell me what is the process that you use to take pictures? So the people that are watching can understand the whole process behind it. I guess to start with the lighting that we use is daylight balanced and so we kind of start with a neutral white balance if you will and then we use a software called ColorChecker and it comes with a piece of hardware that we can take a photo of and basically dial in the colors to as accurate as possible and then bring them into software like Adobe Lightroom and adjust the colors in software from there A question I’m going to ask you because you know we do customer service how many rugs come back because the colors that they saw were different then they saw in a room setting? Have we had any instances of you know getting any rugs back when the color was inaccurate? Actually we haven’t. We’ve gotten rugs back because the customer has gotten it into their house and it just didn’t go with the colors of the room but as far as you know somebody calling back and saying, I got a rug that didn’t look like the website, you know very, very few and in those instances sometimes a rug will look different depending on what angle you’re standing at you know with wool pile it’ll be lighter from one side and darker from the other side so that’s one consideration to look into when you’re looking at our rugs a lot of our rugs we take from two different angles to give you the colors from both angles so That’s a very good point that you raised the thing is when people are looking at you know our hand knotted rug and the colors look different from two different angles that’s a very very good point tell them why that is again it’s the sheen of the rug, it’s the sheen of the wool. Wool carries kind of a high-sheen so the light reflecting off of it from one angle will be lighter than from another side from the other angle so it’ll just look darker and lighter. You can test that with your rug in your house you know look at it from one side walk around look at it from the other side it’s a lot darker or a lot lighter depending on with what side of the rug you’re on. Yeah and the main thing is it’s because it’s a hand-knotted, handspun rug and it is also hypoallergenic in all vegetable dyes. Thank You!
