Morrison’s Homes Design Series – The Emmett
Morrison’s Homes Design Series – The Emmett

– Hi, I’m Danielle Paul and owner of Designer’s Edge. Today I’ll be walking you through all the interior design elements and inspiration in the Emmett – Morrison’s front garage
showhome in Livingston. Come on in. For this home, Morrison decided to throw it back to the retro and boho
aesthetics from the 70s, since that’s a big interior
design trend this year. But to keep things fresh, we put a modern spin on it with contemporary colours,
textures, and accessories. We used a lot of bold greens
throughout the main floor, complemented with touches
of blush and gold accents to create a calming and modern feel. We also handpicked some
statement pieces for each room that help us create the
perfect retro modern home. Let’s have a look at a few of them. I love this green couch
in the living room. Its design and shape
creates a nostalgic feel and sets the tone for
the rest of the room. Since the keys to any retro design project are bold colors and unusual furniture, we went ahead and finished
off the living room with bright blush pillows, unique decor, and tons of greenery to
make the space even bolder. Moving onto the kitchen, you’ll see a lot of the same
colors to create cohesion. Keeping with the retro boho theme, Morrison went for striking
cabinets with simple shelves to show off some of these
interesting accessories. And to jazz up the space a little more, we incorporated these blush bar seats. That’s it for the main floor. Let’s head up and see
the rest of the Emmett. Welcome to the master bedroom. I love all the layers in this room because it creates a
soft and inviting space. As you can see we’ve tied in the color
palette from the main floor with this blush-colored bed. It’s striking and
welcoming at the same time. To add an extra element of design, we created this statement wall with some wood veneer wallpaper. This works to offset the
femininity of the bed and create more of a balance in the room. This master bedroom keeps
with the theme of the home without being overdone. We’ve got a balance of
simplicity and design and a mix of modern and
vintage-inspired pieces to help capture that retro theme. The Emmett is the epitome
of a modern retro haven. It’s got bold colors,
contemporary accents, and one-of-a-kind decor that help bring the on trend
70’s aesthetic to life. Thank you for joining us.
