Mosaics – Make a Mosaic with Indoor Cement

Hi, I’m Rita with Diamond Tech. I’m here to show you how to use mosaic stone cement in your indoor molds The first thing we want to do is find out how much mosaic stone cement we will need for this particular project To do so simply fill the coaster or any mold to about an 1/8″ from the top with water Once you get it filled go ahead and dump it back into the container. Now, you want to measure that water using your measuring spoons Once you get that, that is the amount of mosaic stone cement you will be needing for this project If you divide it by 3, that will tell you how much water you need Now its time to find out how much mosaic stone cement we’re going to need for our project We already have the water that we have poured from our mold Now we need to measure that out. 1…2…3…4…5…6. That tells me I am going to need 6 tablespoons of mosaic stone cement for this project Okay now, we know that we’re going to need 6 tablespoons, so we’re going to go ahead and put 6 tablespoons in our little mixing cup here Okay, now as I said before in order to figure out how much water your going to need, divide the 6 by 3. So I’m going to need 2 tablespoons of water for this project And then all we have to do is stir. Now you may need to add more water, as you can see, it’s kind of thick We want it to be more of a pancake batter instead of a fudgy brownie batter, we want more of a pancake batter. So we’re going to add just a little bit But the measurement before is a jumping off point for you You don’t want to add too much water to it, so just a little bit at a time, about a teaspoon at a time until you get that texture that you’re looking for And then you just stir it up This is perfect Now, what we want to do is just slowly pour it in our mold and just spread it out Now you’re ready to use mosaic stone cement in your very own projects Find Jennifer’s Mosaics at your local craft stores And join us on Facebook for some fun projects!
